Why can't I renew my book?

There are a number of reasons why you may not be able to renew your books:

You may have very overdue items or outstanding fines - contact the Library.

The book has been requested by another user - return it to the Library by the due date. If it has been recalled, fines are charged at 50p per day (after 1 day’s grace), maximum £10.00 per item.

Restricted loans including 24 hour loans and same day loans may not be renewed - return it to the Library at the time due.

The renewal limit has been reached - present the book, in person, for reissue at any of our libraries.

If your book Location shows as Resource Sharing Library, the book was borrowed from an external library through the Document Delivery service. For renewal email the Document Delivery service directly at ill@imperial.ac.uk
